Rockstar has released the Grand Theft Auto VI launch trailer, dated October 15, 2026, and reaffirmed that the game arrives November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

The new trailer is available through Rockstar’s official trailer page. It is a major pre-release milestone, but players should separate the details Rockstar has actually announced from conclusions drawn from cinematic editing.

What Rockstar confirmed

Rockstar’s October 15 announcement establishes several concrete details:

  • Release date: Thursday, November 19, 2026.
  • Announced launch platforms: PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
  • Story: Jason and Lucia find themselves caught in a criminal conspiracy spanning Leonida after a seemingly straightforward score goes wrong.
  • New music: The trailer features “Flower in a Hurricane”, a new Justice collaboration with Tame Impala, SZA, and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. Rockstar identifies Justice as composers of the game’s original score.

These are announcement details, not guesses about gameplay systems or technical performance.

The trailer isn’t a performance benchmark

A trailer is useful for seeing Rockstar’s art direction, tone, characters and locations. It does not, on its own, establish the retail version’s frame-rate modes, platform-by-platform image quality or how the game performs during busy open-world play.

Rockstar’s launch-trailer announcement lists PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. It does not announce a PC launch date. Treat predictions about PC availability separately from what the company has actually said.

Players looking for a longer view of the game can also watch Rockstar’s August 27 extended look, which the publisher says was captured entirely from PlayStation 5 in-game footage. That provides more context than a music-driven launch trailer, though it still isn’t an independent performance test.

What to check before launch

Before buying or choosing a platform, the most useful remaining questions are practical: confirmed performance modes, the final download size, preload timing and any additional platform announcements. Check Rockstar’s official pages for updates rather than relying on lists of rumored features.
